I've had nothing but issues with this skimmer. I've owned it for amost a year now, and I'm about ready to toss the thing out the window! I have it at the recommended water level (which doesn't fluctuate in my sump). It seems to work fine, and then out of the blue it's overflowing back into my sump. I can unplug it and plug it back in and it works fine for a few more hours/days?

I've removed it several times to clean & inspect it, and noticed the o-ring that's between the pump and the skimmer body has been pushed into the skimmer chamber (not sure if this was the issue) i glued it in place thinking perhaps i finally solved my issues. Well, after running the skimmer with no issue for 3 - 4 days, I checked and sure enough it was overflowing once again! I removed the skimmer to check the o-ring, but it was still in it's proper place. Anybody have any suggestions, or experiencing this same issue? btw....No chemicals are getting into the water that may act up the skimmer.

+1 on the airline. A skimmer that overflows isn't getting enough air. Check them all to make sure they aren't getting loose or clogged.

I used the XS 160 for years and it gave me no problems. One of the best skimmers I've ever owned personally.

I also own this and have had good luck with it overall, but occasional overflows. Got much worse when airline was clogged, found out that i had mine cranked a bit too high in terms of volume and tuned down a bit, haven't had any issues since.
