hi there im going nuts...dosed my tank with red slime remover..box said turn off skimmer so i did 48hours later changed water and went to turn on skimmer and now its overflowing..has a gate valve and i turned it all the way open but still overflowing...wth happend..skimmer is about 6 months old and was working great..any help would be great..:furious:

Did run charcoal. You should do a large water change to get rid of the extra nutrients created by killing the cyano, and the charcoal really helps a lot.

I also have a reef octopus skimmer and whenever I use any additives mine also overflows--it's normal. As the others said, you just need to give it some time.

It doesn't matter what skimmer you have, red slime remover will make all of them overflow. Stick with it and change your carbon often. It'll calm down in a few days.
