Reef only

I'm thinking about doing a 50L reef only. Once the tank cycles and all parameters are acceptable would I benefit adding a CUC or is it uneccasary in a reef only aquarium? Would I still get as much algae without any fish? No feeding and no fish waste etc. All help and advice appreciated.

Corals need nitrogen and phosphorus, so you will still need to feed even if you go fishless.

Do you mean feed them dedicated coral food or add flakes or pellet to the tank?

Snails are a good choice. Hermit crabs are controversial as they will eating anything.

Either one would be fine. You could dose N and P too, I suppose. I would just add a fish, but it's up to you.

I would stay away from hermits.

Hermits will eat coral, if there is enough food in tank they will eat other things first that they like more. And I agree I would add a fish or two to take care of the phosphates, ect
