have any of you guys been to the reef room in dana point? they have been doing a ton of remodeling and i anted to know what you guys think?

Was there last weekend. My Dad lives in Dana Point up the street from the REEF ROOM and I had gone by there about 8 times to find the place closed.

Finally!! last weekend I stopped by and it was open. Apparantly the shop was recently purchased and the new owner is in the process of remodeling. The new owner promised to keep more regular hours.

I will check back the next time I go visit my pops. Who knows, perhaps I will be pleasantly surprised but i won't keep my hopes up. My brief discussions with the owner left me questioning his knowledge of SPS/LPS corals and fish for that matter. He had no idea that a Blue Throat Trigger was reef safe... I thought that to be pretty common knowledge to most Reefers.

Anyhow, I do intend to check back but it is not worth the trip right now. Things were really still being set up and there was not much livestcok.

not worth the drive yet all common large fish nothing special yet...not even any frags...they are supposedly working on a big corral tank but that is yet to be seen

Ya..reef room is right near me, i like there slection, the invertebrates, the corals. THere are setting up a new coral slection system dunno when its gonna be done, i let you guys know. Some very cooly-o corals, i think their starting a jellyfish tank. Small room, big slection. Check it out.

yeah we just set-up a 260 mini tide pool with a natilist(sp?) and a invert set-up. we will be setting up a frag tank, were replumbing the coral tank
setting up a jellyfish tank and trying to get more things for the hobbiest with the champign taste
