Hello I am about to stock a 300 gallon and was wondering if a flame or coral beauty was reef safe and I was also wondering are achillie gangs hard to take care of

I have a coral beauty that has become really aggressive and nips a lot. He will be ousted when I get my 265 setup going.

Achilles tangs are one of the hardest tangs to get going.

i also have a coral beauty and have no problems with it. I have a 120 reef and he has been a model citizen for almost a year

I've never kept a flame angel so no experience here, and never kept an Achilles but the general concensus is that they do not adapt well to aquarium life and are hard to get eating.

I've kept flames and coral beauties with no issues, but every fish is different and they might eat all your corals or maybe they won't only one way to find out. I've not attempted an achilles. there is a primer on this fish. Basically the acclimate poorly and might get aggressive so to me its not worth the risk. a large tank with high flow is ideal.

I have a flame and as he has gotten older he nips more and more. He will not be making it into my new 180.
