OK, I've got a dilemma. We live in the woods and roaches are occasionally getting in. We also have ant problems. I need to know if there is something that we can use to keep these things out of the house, but not kill everything in the tank. Any suggestions would b greatly appreciated.

Try the ant granules at Home Depot / Lowes that are meant to be consumed by the insects and brought back to the queen, killing the hive. Good for both pests. The pesticide type that flat out kills will only bring more reinforcements to your doorstep and beyond. An alternative is the Home Defense stuff that is meant to be sprayed around the outside of your house. I say OK to also spray in rooms that don't have tanks in them.

Thanx, unfortunately the SO doesn't want to do the granules for fear of poisoning the cats. She really wants to have someone come in and spray. I just don't have a clue as to what is safe, or who to trust. I understand the whole thread of life thing, but she is completely against just living with them. So, there I am. Anyway.

DJREEF, We live in Houston (west side) and use Advanced Pest Control for our house. They come around quarterly and do both the inside and outside. Never had a problem. Over the years they have become more enviromentaly freindly and don't spray nearly as much as they used to and we still do not have any problems.
