Reef Safe Star

So serpent it is. How much do they tolerate nitrate levels? My tank is still new and I have added black sea cucumbers to shift sand but it was a hit and miss. One is busy eating sand, the other sleeps on the rock or glass.

In my fuge the sand bed is covered with brown algae, the black cucumbers simply would not touch it. Will serpent stars take care of the algae? I just want to make sure the top layer of the DSB sand bed is aerated, otherwise the brown algae is not advancing nor a nuisance in the fuge.
