Reef Safe Triggers...

At the Dec meeting at Pauls house, I was gazing in awe at his amazing tank. I noticed he had two Blue Throat Triggers in his tank, which got me thinking because I've always wanted a trigger. I currently have a 90 gal reef, with hermits, a few peppermint shrimp, and a cleaner shrimp. I'd like something that doesn't destroy/eat any of that.
Someone (my apologies I didn't see the name) suggested a Pink Tail or a Niger in addition to the Blue Throat. I'm curious if anyone has any experiences with this triggers in a reef tank, good or bad. Also, their feeding habits. Currently I feed brine shrip and flake, with some seaweed sheets on occasion for the tang. Thanks much for the help.

I would go with the blue throat or pink tail. The Niger is hit/miss as to whether it will eat anything. I had one in my smaller tank in my office (a 75g bow) and it was fine until its early demise due to a power outage at my house.

The expert has already spoken, but I thought I would throw in my two cents. I had a Niger Trigger in my 75g reef and the only problem I had was that she ate peppermint shrimp. I had cleaner shrimp, snails, and all types of corals and she didn't touch any of that. I know they are very hit or miss but that was my experience

I have a Niger in my 75, knowing they are hit or miss. He doesn't bother anything other than an occasional snail. He eats anything in the tank, is very active and cool looking the way they swim, almost like a vertical ray the way they use their fins.

Niger here as well. Doesnt bother anything that is currently in the tank, but anything I add becomes a quick dinner.

He's a cool fish though.
