Reef Safe Wrasse

I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation for a reef safe wrasse. By that I mean something that is not going to eat my snails or crabs. This is part of my 90 gallon reef build, so I do have some size restrictions. Your suggestions are appreciated!

Any Fairy and Flasher Wrasse would be fine. As far as fairy wrasses the labouts, lineatus, and rhomboids are some of my favorites (but also some of the most expensive). And Just about any Flashers Wrasse I like.

I have a canary wrasse nice character inexpensive and has not bothered any coral.

Does the canary bother your invertebrates at all?

Fairy and flasher wrasses require a covered tank (but not with egg crate). Highly recommended but they do best with 1 male + female(s) combinations if feasible.

Sixline wrasse are pretty, inexpensive, small, hardy, and wont bother your invertabrates or snails. it will however eat parasites that affect your coral.

+1 Sixline Wrasse

Probably my favorite fish in tank. They are said to be disease resistent. Moves between rocks alot swimming actively, nice coloring. Great fish!

I have a Malinarus (spelling?) wrasse and it has not bothered any of of my inverts. Plus it will eat the bristle worms as well. The best thing about it is the colors on this fish are AWSOME!

six lines can become quite mean with age. i vote some sort of fairy, maybe flame

My canary - had him over a year has botherd nothing - Has not touched the clams, coral and has not paid any attention to the small tiny stars in my tank - although I suspect he got rid of my feather dusters. Lot's of character - as soon as the time clicks on for my moonlights - halides go off about 5 min's after he's burries himself in the sand til morning.

Cool, sounds like I have some pretty good options. I was originally leaning towards a yellow coris wrasse but apparently sometimes they eat snails. I will have to shop around some stores in the area and see what is available. I know I can get a six line pretty much anywhere, but the fairies and some of the others I don't see quite as frequently.

I'd also recommend a Radiant Wrasse.

If you get a sixline, that will preclude fairy and flasher wrasses later on.

Also suggest Twinspot Hogfish (wrasse). small, beautiful, active, low risk. My Melanurus Wrasse cleaned up many of my inverts- caught him red-handed bashing snails against the rocks for fun!

Flames are gorgeous. Be sure and treat for flukes.

Flames are nice but they are also hard to keep. Make sure to buy from a reputable dealer and treat for flukes and internal parasites twice.
