reef safe???

Many of the common bristleworms get that big or larger. However, without a closer pic, it almost looks like a fireworm. Keep in mind, though, that the vast majority of bristleworms found in reefs are absolutely harmless and even beneficial. One of the questions I ask is have you been having any problems lately, like fish loss, coral tissue loss, etc. If not, then I wouldn't worry.

i checked my tank after lights out for a few hours due to insomnia and low and behold i found one exactly like yours except he was easy 6 inches . . . i scared him with the torch light and the hole he left in the sand was maybe 4 mm wide . . . he freaked me out a bit as i didnt know what he was and how safe he was but no coral losses, no fish loss and tank growing well so far . . .

i had no idea i had him in my tank its been running about 3 months now . . . :) good luck with it all . . .
