Ok dumb question I've tried several brands of reef salt and it appears one brand has always created algae bloom after water change. Is this possible and what brand do the big boys recommend. lol

Definitely possible, but I would check your rodi( if you have it) to make sure it isn't your water supply. But I have had that happen several times when using
Instant ocean, I chalk it up to phosphates in the salt mix. It doesn't happen everytime though and it hasn't done that in a while. What salt mix is this happening with?

I have always used regular IO and never had any issues

In my opinion no reason to use any other expensive salt brands as instant ocean always seems reliable, mixes up well and stores well in my reserve barrel
