Reef Savvy Tank/Build Dilemma

Just got my custom tank [(48x28x20) opti-white glass 3 sides, RS 1500 overflow] quote back and it's time to bite the bullet if I'm going to pick it up on summer vacation in FL.

Here's my dilemma: Current tank is up and running with all the equipment I want to use on the Reef Savvy build and my wife (and I too) would like to keep the fish we have in the tank (except a couple), as we've become attached to them. I really don't want to, nor have the funds to invest much in a "œholding" temp tank, and I would like to sell the DSA Neo 90 (36x24x24) to offset the RS purchase. I'm looking for ideas/feedback.

I hate getting attached to fish, corals, sea critters, heck, live rock for that matter"¦

If I got a 75g on the cheap, what minimum setup requirements would I need to meet to keep the fish happy? I'd rather not purchase another skimmer, mess with a sump, etc. I'd like to sell the DSA asap but that might not be feasible"¦the fish would need a temp home for probably 4 months at least, if I sold it now, or 6-8 weeks once the RS is cycling"¦ Maybe I just should sell the fish, and hope they go to a good home"¦along with the corals (a couple I'd like to keep), nems, verts, and LR"¦clean up all the equipment, sell what I don't need and prepare the fish closet and get a stand built, etc"¦Thoughts?

I'm trying to like keep the DSA 90 going, start a low budget FOWLR, and prepare for a high-end build that has equipment dedicated to another system"¦Huh"¦I must not be well"¦

Anybody interested in a DSA Neo 90 including black oak stand (side doors), 30g acrylic sump (30x15x15) with 3 compartments, Danner Mag 9.5, canopy (light sits inside or hangs from ceiling, open top/back, no doors)"¦$700 for all

Sorry for rambling a little, committing to make the purchase and the process has me a little on edge.

When are going to FL. I'm going end of may for se-CFM in Orlando I think it's may 29 Memorial Day Weekend

Why can't you just swap all your existing stuff to the new tank except for sand? Same water, same Rick, etc shouldn't cycle.

I suppose in theory that will work...hmmm, guess I could do a pre-run of the plumbing to make sure everything is in order, I'd need a different pump anyway. I put some numbers to a low budget temp tank, and there's almost no way to get out of less than $500-$600...so maybe I should just apply this to new equipment for the new build, like an Apex/Sump/Pump etc. I should also say, one of the fish is a Lemonpeel Angel, and he's NOT going in the new tank...nor is the Diamond Goby. The Lemonpeel really is not an issue, as he's been coral friendly for the most part...the Diamond Goby sends Zoas into hiding with all his dozer work.

In regards to the old water, I'd rather not use any of it...as this is a true live rock tank with potential of algae spores, aptasia, etc. Don't see any of these in the tank itself, as I've been successful eradicating these in the past, however their are some in the overflow and sump...so the potential is there. The new tank is getting only BRS/Marco rock.

For now, if anyone is interested in the tank, it will be available sometime in late June or early July, I could take a deposit to hold it if so. Basically selling the Sump/Mag 9.5/Plumbing for $150, and the Tank/Stand/Canopy for $550...I have $1,400 in this.

Any advice would be appreciated from folks who've done an upgrade like this before.
