Reef Spread Sheet????

Does anyone have a nice spread sheet for tracking reef tests and whatnot?

Years ago when I lived near Tropical Fish World in Raleigh NC I used the one they handed out but sadly I don't even have a copy of that.:uzi:

I just use a self made spread sheet nothing fancy just to keep track of parameters/Bulb changes GFO and Cabon changes Water Changes.
If I didnt I would forget one of the above

I was wondering the same thing. I saw an aquarium journal thing on Marine Depot, but the reviews made it seem like it was for the FO beginner type aquarist. I immediately thought that I should make something similar but for reef aquarists, but I don't feel right about stealing the idea and charging people money for what essentially is a binder and something anyone could print out on their computer.

Fellow Reefers,

I am a Sr. Financial Analyst and an Expert with MS Excel. I can speak in excel formulas and write macros in my sleep. Any type of spreadsheet that you need, I would be happy to help with. My specialty is working with massive amounts of data. Send me a PM if you need some help.

I do not charge for my services... If its reef related.

Warmest Regards,
James

There you go. Just figure out how you want it to look. I might have to take him up on the offer also, especially because I'm not very good with spreadsheet..

Well, I'm not a SFA like somebody ;) (just kidding James) but I made a sheet for just this purpose. It tracks your WQ readings and you can also graph them to see it visually with a trend line. If anyone wants it I will be glad to email it. Now, understand that it works, but it sure won't do some of the things that CUNAReefer's could--his probably will have Macros in it! LOL!

Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

I use a simple Excel spreadsheet, nothing fancy. Now if James makes one that's fancy, why not post it here? We can all share, and call it CUNAReefer log or something! :)

Hey Reefers,

Sounds FUN!!! Give me a couple hours and I'll see what I can come up with. I'm not sure I can post spreadsheets, but I can email.

I'll be posting again soon,
James

So I'm building the spreadsheet and trying to think of every variable that my fellow reefers would like to track. I have coral purchases with growth rates, dosing, water params, lighting, stats, and charts.

Would you mind posting what variables you would like to see? Feel free to describe automation and some of the more complex measures that you would like to use.

Yes, I will be using macros!

I keep a log tracking my water tests, water changes, what and when I dose, when I change phos and carbon media, when I replaced my bulbs. But my lady lost it some where, I have not seen it in a month. I think I will make something on my computer instead since I cant find my note book log.

dosing schedule? ph and salinity graphs? maybe temp graph? i like the idea to keep track of coral growth.

feeding schedule is something i would love because i forget when i feed.

Feeding will be added! I'm going to take a little break. I've gotten a rough layout done. Now I need to add the conditional formatting, formulas, links, and automation. I will also be adding some pivot tables.

Hey Reefers,

Hope all is well!

After 1.5 years of unemployment, I began a new job on Monday! Even though its taken up all of my time, I did get a great start on the spreadsheet. Navigation, Conditional formatting, complex formulas, and some other things to develop the "foundation" of the spreadsheet. I'm also populating it with some "test" data so the end user will have examples on how to use the tool. I'll put in another 5 or 6 hours this weekend. I still need to add pivot tables, more stats, and charts. If you want to PM me your email, I can send you my work on Sunday for some feedback.

Warmest Regards,
James

Thanks! I had no idea excel was so complicated. As far as I know all you do is but words or numbers in the box thingies lol!
