Reef Store Going Out of Business

I just found out that Midwest Reefs is going out of business. He has a lot of stuff to sell including 40g RR tanks for 50.00, Sequence pumps, skimmers, calcium reactors, 400w halide setups as well as some 1000w halide setups and some PC setups. He also had a lot of Tunze equipment and 125g tanks and stands. All rock, fish and corals need to go also. Oh, and quite a bit of salt too. If anyone is interested in seeing what he has you need to call him at 202-1627 to set up a time to meet with him. I just thought you all might be interested in what he has to sell.

What a shame. That was a really cool store! It was awesome to walk into a LFS that had top of the line equipment - and to see it all in action!

We went in about two weeks ago, and about half of their fish only tanks weren't running, so we wondered what the deal was...but were hoping that they weren't shutting the reef section down!

A very nice store! He's also a great guy to deal with, I dont' think he is completely out yet, He is building a house and and building a shop that is like 60x40 (if I remember right, could be bigger) all for fish and some corals.

I'm pretty sure he does, you might want to call him. I know he's got many tanks in 40, 75, 125 & 135 gallons. If I recall most if not all of them are reef-ready.

You know,
I am headed to Iowa City tomorrow for an overnight for work and was looking forward to going to Hung's. Seems like I need to call in sick and go buy some cheap equipment.

That store didn't seem to make it too long though. That is really a shame. They had a great vision when you started talking to them before they were officially open. Maybe just a little too much to make a go of it in central Iowa.

I called and he does have 3 reef ready 125's for sale (with stands).

He wanted $300 for a 125 w/stand.... Not a bad deal but probably not a good enough deal for me to drive there from C.R. for...
