gotta love saltwater.....
Hello C-Sea,, I have to share this with all of you ,,
I came on this web site 1 week ago , to see if i could get some info on setting up a 54 gal corner bow front reef tank.
I got some real good info from alot of people on here. I am VERY new at Reef tanks and the set up needed to run a Reef tank , i did'nt and wont just throw MAD money at it and call myslef a "reefer".
This is something to learn and take slow ,,, to gather up the need supplies , and most of all the knowledge to run it and make it work for you ,,, there are MILLIONS of diffrent options for tank set ups , skimmers, UV protection , filters , sand , rocks all the diffrent "STUFF" that plays key parts in a reef tank.
As stated i am VERY NEW at this ,,,i need to know this 'STUFF" and someone to ask whats that do ?? hows this work ?? where do you put this ?? what about this lightning ?? all the key parts ,,and the TONS of questions that come with all this stuff ,,,
Well i posted a thread about buying some live rock , a member posted a reply , i looked at it and a few more PM's later i called him about the rock ,, seemed like a very nice guy with great insight and info i need ,,it was like "cool,, he seemed very nice" and had some base rock he said i could buy for a VERY fair price.
I got to asking him a few more questions about all this "stuff" , he said his rock had some hitchhikers on it that we would just leave it on there for me when i was ready to buy it and that it "would be there when i was ready for it"
Come to find out he has 2-300 gal tanks and a 460 gal reef tank at his house , (one of the 300 gal tanks for sale for a VERY fair price), well we got to talking and he said if i would like to come out and see his tanks i could do that ,,
Me, once again being new at this ,,i was thinking , "man , i have to go somtime to see these tanks"
This member and I got to taking and we got together today at Aquatic Tech in Columia Station , me and 2 of my sons went and met with Wayne , such a nice man !! very nice , we went to another Aqua store out that way, and then to his house so i could see his tanks ,,,VERY NICE !!!!! i could sit and look for hours ,,, he has the set up most of us dream about , tubing , tanks, filters , pipes running from the basement throught the garage, into the shed , throught the frontyard , off the backboard and in the tank !! slamdunk ,,,,,darn nice !!!! and very helpful ,,

If all people were as helpful as he has been to me in the last week with "info and insight" and direction ,,, this hobby would be much better ,,,,, it would have to be !!!
I cant wait to get mine up and running good , so when i have a coral "split" or a frag he does not have ,,ill take it out to him myslef and give it to him !!!!

Thanks Wayne (cash03ins) ,,,your help is noted !!! and i will pay it back when i can !!!

I would strongly suggest you do plenty of research. One way you can get darn near all of your questions answered is to join C-SEA. As a member, you will receive a monthly newsletter which includes a "Tank of the Month." You will notice pictures and descriptions of the entire filtration system, sump, lighting, pumps, reactors, etc... Thus, you can learn what sort of tank to build for your family by reading about the success stories of excellent examples of aquariums and proven reef husbandry. Another membership benefit is having access to the C-SEA library. The resources are expansive. I will be publishing a section in an upcoming newsletter that outlines the library inventory. Send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you last months newsletter. C-SEA is only 20.00 a year for your entire family to join. We meet at the Cleveland Zoo once a month. Members can take advantage of the "members only" raffle. Meetings are informative and normally include a presentation of sorts. Let me know if you have questions.

I just sent the March Octopus Newsletter. Be sure to list your email address on your C-SEA sign up form. It's always good to have new members. Welcome aboard.
