Reef + This Fish = ???

How is your success rate with these fish & your reef (reef safe):

1) Coral Beauty

2) Red Flame

3) Yellow Corsis Wrasse

4) Red Corsis Wrasse

I've got a flame angle in my tank, just added her a couple days ago but in my lps tank she hasn't nipped at anything other then the algae on the glass or rock

I have a coral beauty that paid no attention to my LPS or Clam, I transitioned that tank over to a FOWLR and moved my big Frogspawn out, and put it in a smaller tank of mine that already housed a Flame Angel...The Flame nibbled the frogspawn to death...I kept checking my water conditions and they were good...What I wasn't doing, was paying close enough attention to the fish behavior in this temporary tank, and I discovered it was he Flame Angel's fault too late.

I had a Yellow Coris Wrasse, with LPS and softies, no problems there at all. He was a very nice, active fish. (Unfortunately, he jumped onto the sponge in the back of my Aquapod).

A red Coris Wrasse is a significantly larger fish than the others you are asking about. I have never had one, so I can't comment on them.

What kind of lps? Torches and frogspawns are probably ok, but anyfleshy brain corals are living on borrowed time.

I have all but the Halichoeres chrysus... There is no such thing as a reef safe fish. Every fish can potentially destroy something. It's just that what are you willing to sacrifice?
The Coris gaimard has eaten some shrimps, and will kill everything that it can when it comes to crabs, shrimps and hermits. And the chrysus is rather the same, just smaller. All Centropyge species can nip at corals, but may never do that... If the flame you are talking about is the armatus, the it should be reef safe. Mine is...

That is interesting, my experience was the opposite. My Flame Angel nibbled my frogspawn to death, and my brain was completely ignored. Just goes to show, every fish is an individual....

I wouldnt add anything but the yellow coris. Angels imo will eventually turn. Unless you have a good size tank you could add the red coris. The only thing is the red coris will most likely destroy your cuc. The yellow ime is a very good citizen in reefs though.

You asked about a fish called a "red flame." He's asking if you're talking about a flame angel or scarlet hawkfish. It's a reasonable question.

Yellow corisse: ate my tiny periwinkle snails but left my tiny but bigger than periwinkle florida ceriths alone. I have my tank open top for the past 3 years and my yellow corisse has never jumped ship (just lucky I guess). Never eaten any of my shrimp and I have had coral banded and peppermints. Have had hermits all my time in this hobby from tiny to full grown and never seen the wrasse even touch them. Very active when not sleeping in sand and circulates through the current of powerheads and throught the rock work. An excellent active add to any tank and this fish moves all over the tank hunting for pods and food. Very interesting fish because you can watch them move their eyes and see what direction they are looking. Also, a very hardy fish that can handle a variation of parameters and swings.
