Reefbrite XHO 50/50 question

I am thinking of adding a 48in Reefbrite XHO 50/50 to my tank. I have a 120 which is 48X24X24 with a Nova Ext Pro 6 bulb T-5, ATI bulbs.My questions are..

#1 Will the Reefbrite 50/50 XHO give me some shimmer if I add it to the front of my Nova Ext pro lights. Or will the T5 behind it block it out.

#2 Does the Reefbrite 50/50 XHO look like one color, or can you see the blue then white then blue then white all the way across the tank.
