reefCubed with Radion Pro

after having the Radion Pro in a box for the last month I'm happy to have it mounted and in action! Absolutely fantastic light. the adjustability is great, and the ecosmartlive is very nicely done with only a few quirks.

Pros:
* great color rendition
* able to put out nice blues without turning the fish into funky colors
* nice par coverage over a 30" tank (running about 150-170 center and 80-90 in sides right now)
* excellent visual coverage
* minimal colors not blending (sometimes you will see the individual colors reflect)
* nice pre-packaged programs
* has halide glitter effect
* ecosmartlive does a great job at adjusting color, ramp-up and intensity
* quiet
* slick design (though finger print sensitive)

cons (or things I haven't figured out yet):
* moonlighting - not supported out of the box, I've been playing with low settings and it is hit or miss, when I think I have it it doesn't work.
* lack of available tank mount, preferably one which hides the power cable and flips back
* ecosmart live does not have a color wheel option, you have to play with sliders (more on that when I'm through playing with the reeflink)
* required reeflink to go USB-free [I will say the reeflink is pretty impressive so far]
* a few more pre-packaged programs would be nice
* instructions on how to make the "custom" curve for the shallow reef program

I have not looked at interoperability with the vortex as I have a "variety" program and feed controls via a Neptune controller for the pumps.

My only real disappointment is paying full price and then having everything go on sale :debi:

[excuse the heaters - I'm waiting to get the replacements in!]

Next time you're on ESL Go to the "Group Settings Tab" You'll find an option there called "Lunar Phase"
Turn it on and set a point on your graph somewhere out beyond the end of your cycle.The maximum intensity that you choose for this point is what it will look like at full moon.

Thanks, I'm loving it.

My wife says it hurts her eyes to look at the tank. Power is at 50% with the light rather high. Have you heard that feedback before?
