Reefflux 12k VS phoenix 14k.

What do you guys think?. Are the reefflux 12ks really that blue?.

I currently use 12K RF and used 14k Phoenix before. 250W HQI on Icecaps, the Phoenix were bluer.

Yes, the 12K RF is more white than the Phoenix. I get good growth and color on my sps with these lamps. Im actually on my 2nd set of RF. Thanks, thats my weimerainer "Memphis" on my avatar.

Are you using electronic or magnetic? Electronics make the bulb run bluer in my expeirence

Phoenix 14Ks are really 20K bulbs.

Yeah i would like to know that as well because im using mag ballasts.

IMO the phoenix look more washed out with the pfo mag ballast. I switched to icecaps 250w and the color is better maybe not as bright as when using the mag ballast.

Welll im gona try out the RF 12k bulbs on my mag ballasts. Hopefully it will look good.

You are correct JmLee, no matter how "pretty" the photo, there is no way you can discern the bulbs color from it. There are just too many variables that come into play. Nice looking tank though.

When you say washed out, what do you mean by that? I hear that term all the time but I just don't understand it.
