I picked up a Reefkeeper Lite Plus from a board member about a week ago. My intention was to get a n ALC module to control my Chinese light boxes among other functions. I've been doing everything manually for a year now (home made ATO).
With the two PC4s, the SL1 and the ALC module that arrived today, (from another board member, GO RC CLASSIFIEDS!!) I thought I was going to have to buy another temperature probe before I could set an alarm for heater shutoff.
The RKL has a 4 module limit. I plugged the iTemp probe into the bus anyways just out of sheer curiosity.
The iTemp probe DOES NOT count towards the 4 module limit on the Reefkeeper lite. (this was the discovery).
Since I did not find this information out before while searching, I thought I'd share for future folks that have the same question.
Still going to upgrade the HU eventually to an elite because I want more than one standby mode, but for now I'm very happy I decided to go the controller route.
