So my rkl just got here yesterday and I am trying to set the heater. I set it at 79.0 and for some reason the tank is only 76.5 and it isn't heating up. The little red light on my heaters thermostat turns off at 76.5 but the heaters thermostat is set to 79.0 along with the rkl..... What is going on? And also how do I program my mh? I try and it alway says ch3 off

could be channel is not on auto or temp range (not sure on turn is too high) website is good, very easy when you figure it out be patient its a good unit

Could also be the thermostat on the heater is not in line with the RKL, or vice versa. Try turning the heaters thermostat all the way. Does the blue on light on the PC4 for that channel stay lit when the heater light goes off?

Of the pc4 light is lit does it mean it is heating? And also can I set t5 actinic lights to storm mode along with my hydor pumps?

Before you plugged your heaters into your RKL, were they heating the water above 76.5 degrees? If the PC4 light is on, that means that the circuit is on. Whether or not it's heating depends on the heater.

It sounds like you need to dial up the heater a few notches. I don't recommend dialing it ALL the way up, just one or two clicks above where you need it to be. The RKL is not 100% failsafe, just better than thermostats on the heaters.

Also, make sure that the "default" is set as "OFF". You don't want the heaters to automatically go on if the RKL temp probe fails.

Sorry, don't know about the actinics in storm mode. I'm thinking no, since you would be effectively using storm mode to override a timer. The only thing I know of that overrides timers is the standby mode.
