Reeflo ORCA 250

Yeah, except someone recommended using a 1/4" plywood guide instead of "tipping in" free hand like they do to start the hole.

I've got 2 of the glass holes bits and you cant beat them for the price. Jeff used them on his 180 I've prolly drilled 15 holes with them myself they still work great.

any update on this? Can't decide myself between the Orca or Octopus

i am so far very happy with the ORCA 250. Having said that my bio-load is very small, 30 odd frags and about 8 fishes. also it takes about 3 wks for the skimmer to break in. it is working flawlessly. very easy to setup and am much happier to dump my mesh wheel (getting tired of not starting up automatically when stopped). Mike Leonard from reefspeciality was very helpful in setting this up for me. Never used an octopus so not much help there. But if you do decide on the ORCA I would strongly recommend Mike. Free shipping on the skimmer that arrived fedex in less than 48hrs and he went over the installation in great details and followed up with phone calls to see how the skimmer was running.

I just picked a 250 up and like the idea of the extrended neck.. has anyone thought about making an adapter the make the existing neck longer ?
