Wow! I didn't realize this thing was so friggin big. Why is it only rated 1440 gph? I have a pump 1/8 this size & its pushing 800+gph. Is it just a really effecient pump? Here is a pic next to my Eheim 1250 skimmer pump-

Those are whoppers. I'm really not sure why the size difference, just how they designed there motor. The DARTS are very small, but the Baldor frame is suppose to be a more efficient type design. So just "SUPER HEAVY DUTY" I guess.

I couldn't figure out why you were shipping 2 boxes... now it all makes since.

"Super Heavy Duty". You can say that again

Thanks again Jason

I ran one for almost 2 years without any maintenance. It will blow water out of that 3/4 pipe like a firehose. Very solid pump in my opinion. Not to mention, literally no noise and room temperature cool. I can fry eggs on my dart.

Its bigger and more efficent because the AC motor probally has bigger windings and/or more windings. The more windings the straighter AC sine wave that is produced. Its like a GM altenator vs. a Honda Altenator. GM has three windings and Honda has 28 windings. I hope it makes it clearer. Nice pump by the way.
