Reeflux 12K lifespan

I've been running my 250w 12K Reeflux's for about 8 months now on my tank for 6 hours a day. About how long do they normally last? When would I need to replace them?

And does anyone have any great suggestions on a replacement bulb? I think these bulbs are great but I am looking to color up my SPS to maximum potential.

It depends on the ballast, but the majority of people out there will say it's about that time to start shopping (especially if you're running SPS).

If you're pretty happy with the bulb, I'd stick with it. Your other option is look at the feedback on the 20k (kind of hit or miss) and see if you want to give that a try.

Ballast is a Galaxy Electronic. What is the difference in which ballast is used?

Overdriving a bulb will generally yield higher PAR, however decrease the usable lifespan of the bulb.

In my opinion, it's time.
