reefscience clam order

so i just dropped into this thread to see how a 5 person clam order went 3 pages. I has been a good read....considering its a group buy thread. you guys kill me!

I stated I wanted a blue tridacna maxima..so I will be glad to pay the 46 if no one else has an issue..I was not really interested in other colors. I thought you could pick or request what you wanted.

It's a five pack that is randomly picked from the clams in the picture. I asked for as many blues as possible and Chad said he would do what he could. There will be more than one blue clam but I'm sure they won't all be blue. At no point did anyone say pick your custom clam and that's what you'll get. It's bad form to come in saying I asked for this and I want this when everyone is just working together to get a relatively inexpensive clam. I was thinking we should keep with the random theme that was going and if you're unhappy with what goes I'll buy the extra at any point and that person can complete their own order and make sure they get exactly what they want.
 
Eh, if they're the ones from the picture, they're all pretty. It really doesn't matter which one I get, however, I would pay more for a blue. But again, any one from that picture is pretty, and the price can't be beat. Thanks for organizing the buy CJ!

Wow CJ..I think you need to reread my post and take a step back. I wasn't insisting on anything..merely vying for position since I did state I wanted blue at the outset and others had stated the same as I had....so I do not buy the Bad Form on my part at all...

That said, I do appreciate the coordination, as I have done it for the club in the past and it can be a pain.
 
Ordering for people can be a pain.....lol...... I'm just happy to get another clam again, if it kicks the bucket, you can buy it back CJ...lol...j/k I'm making sure it doesn't happen this time, I was doing soooooooooo good last time with three clams until I did the two part dosing in which it killed all three, made me very very sad...... I can't wait to see the one I'm getting!!!! Sooo excited!!! So I take it we would be paying $34 something right??? Where are we picking it up, I have to work til 10-10:30pm like I was telling you so I wouldn't be able to pick it up til about 10:30-11:00pm. I might be able to do it earlier by letting my work know I need to leave a bit early if the time given is too late for you, let me know the latest I can pick it up.

I don't want to drive to Mt Juliet that late at night...lol.... You forgot that I'm in Antioch, not too far from CJ. Thanks for the offer though...lol
 
I'll post tomorrow when I pickup the order and it is ready..it says delivered by 3pm to the fedex station which surprised me because I thought we would get the delivered by 10am overnight..
also it looks like ZachB and Andywe are willing to pay the extra for the larger blue clam so we'll figure that out..also we'll look at what color the others are and how many of them are blue as well..In the end we should all be happy..
Let's get a look at them and see where we stand..I'll put them front and center in the tank and post a picture immediately..doesn't get any better than that.
 
One thing to consider is that these guys will need to stay packaged as much as possible. If you put them in your tank, they will have to be acclimated twice (your tank, then ours) after shipping, and I'm thinking that may be disastrous.

Don't get me wrong, CJ, I'm not trying to nit pick, but I don't think any of us want 6 dead clams. :)

Just a thought. :)

That's exactly right Brandon, very good point!!!! It is actually harsh to do that to a clam, they will be stressed out!!!!

Order is here ..come and get it..I will say that all clams are the same size so let's all pay equal $ 33.50.. I was really thinking that the other clam since it was a seperate item order should be bigger and definitely blue and one person could pay the premium..but all 6 clams are the same exact size..Mikeyjer was there to verify with me..
