A heated discussion on another site has spurred my interest here.
It seams that the premium reflectior options sort of are limited to the reef optix, lumen max and lumen arc lines. In the case of the lumen max and lumen arc these are horticultural reflectors. That industry is a much larger marketplace so more investment into design make sense. Obviously the unique requirements of the aquarium aplication significantly limits our options, (a 4' circular reflector just wont fit in the canopy).
So the question is has there been any investigation into or are others using some of the other options out there?
The P.L. Lighting Sysytems reflectors are very big in the industry.
They seem to have a reputation as the most efficient, best designed reflectors. There are a variety of options many of which would fit our tanks nicely.
