Reflectors for mangrove tank?

Planing a macro style tank with a handful of mangroves which will be planted in substrate. Tank is 50g 24x24x20 open top, no canopy. I am interested in these two reflectors.


Hamilton Cozumel Sun Single Ended Metal Halide Reflector
Bimini Sun Double Ended (HQI) Metal Halide Reflector - Hamilton

250W? 150W? Thinking of bulb types? Ballasts?

Don't know where to start with ballasts, help! : )
Chime in if you can help me decide.

I would think the brighter the better, especially if you're going to keep it above the mangroves.
