I have used a pinpoint electronic salinity tester for about a year now. It is always accurate just make sure you calibrate it every other month or so. I really like it because when I mix saltwater I can leave the probe in the water and add exactly the correct amount of salt.
It depends what kind of electronic device you are looking into as well... for example, the JBJ digilab isnt as accurate as the Pinpoint. But I think a refractometer is your best choice. Plus you can get a good quality refractometer for less than a good electronic device.
