Anyone have knowledge of the Milwaukee Instruments digital refractometer (MA887 model number). BRS has it listed for $125 and Champion Lighting & Supply has is for $110. It looks like you place a water sample on it and it give a digital readout of the specific gravity.

Those prices dont seem too bad. I have seen it 115$ shipped a few places

I have only read on review on that particular model and it was all good. I myself am not sure about spending that amount of money on a device that seems to be no better than my 39$ refractometer..

Agreed. Doesn't seem like digital would be any faster. And how often do you need to calibrate and is a manual Cal or do you need to send it out.

Why are you paying $100+ for a refractometer? Marine Depot sells them for like $40 or $50. All you really need is the Auto Temp Compensation (ATC) and the ability to adjust/calibrate it. Pick up some PinPoint calibration fluid for like $5 and your ready to rock.
