I have a 30 gallon nano (3yrs old) and am wondering what the best form of nutrient control is. Ive never really had consistently low levels nutrients and have recently had some problems with hair algae. I only have 2 fish atm but i want to start feeding the coral more frequently and i dont think my current filtration will be able to handle it.
Right now im dosing nopox and have a filter bag of a gfo + skimmer as the main filtration. However, im still seeing clumps of hair algae pop back up and want to keep it from potentially getting out of control. NO3 is 3ppm and PO4 is 0.06
The sump is only 7 gallons so would adding chaeto have a significant impact on the nutrients, or would i be better off choosing another method? Im looking for something that will allow me to potentially feed more but still absorb the excess. Pls let me know what you guys use/recommend.
