Please can someone assist, currently I am 500km from the nearest lfs... so the internet is my only help...
I am setting up a refugium for my 220 litre display tank, the refugium is 100 litres, I have setup the refuge alongside the dislpay tank, slightly higher and I am using an overflow back into the display tank. The plumbing is 32mm pvc and the design is as per below.
My problem is that anything more than a flow rate of 1000 litres/hour seems to overload the overflow and the level of the refuge rises ... eventually over the sides. do I have a plumbing problem or is the slope of the pvc piping a problem?
Also if I dont change anything, would the 1000 litres/hour be adequate for my display tank? what is the recomended flow rate through the refuge?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
