Refugium Book

Could anyone tell me if there is a good book that would explain in very simple terms how to set up a 20 Gal. refugium beside my Main Tank. I know zilch about plumbing and would really like to have a refugium, without a flood. The 20 Gal. tank would set beside and a little lower then my main tank.

I don't know of any books, but melevsreef.com is a great resource for this very purpose.

I checked it out, but can't seem to find anything about a Refugium on the side. Either I missed it, or it isn't feasible. It seems that it would be the same idea as an under the tank, but not sure.

Isn't it true that a true refug should be placed higher than your display tank and gravity fed into display? (leaving out the loss of pods and such from being chopped up by your return pumps)

Others will probably disagree with this but thats what I learned and I'm sticking to it....

If memory serves me right, at the very minimum he has a picture of a sump (which I believed included a refugium) on the side of a tank. Look under the section where he lists all his sumps.

About 90-95% of pods will make it to the display tank with getting chopped up!
