I have built a 20 gal fuge for my 26 gal bow tank. i am using a CPR hangon overflow rated up to 300GPH. As i understand flow through a fuge should be slow. So what return pump should i use? I currently have a Rio1100 rated at 295GPH at 2 ft of head. Will this be a good stup or do i need a smaller pump?

Thanks,

Chris

IMO that flow should be fine for that sized fuge--

You didn't say what you are going to do with that fuge--- for growing chaeto anthony recommends about 20x your fuge volume per hour for circulation--- and the use of a spray bar or some other type of device to get the water rolling (make the chaeto tumble).... that doesn't necessarily have to be all provided by exchange from your tank

This thread is pinned above and is a good read (will likely answer all your fuge flow questions).... http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=462212

but for most applications, that flow or even lower should be fine...
