Refugium Idea...need some help

I want to build a refugium and have some idea on building one but not that sure this is right. could use some help and let me know if this looks like a proper set-up. Thanks for any advice you can help me with

You only need one baffle between the return area and the sump, and the first set of baffles just don't look right to me for some reason, i don't know if you want it to be open under the sand like that, what you could do is bring that second baffle all the way down and drill holes in it just above the sand, nice size holes so the water doesn't squirt thru.

o.k, I think I'm alittle confused, I understand bringing the 2nd baffle all the way down and drill holes, so I don't need the 2nd sponge after where i have the sand/live rock... ? and where i have the return pump is fine...right, back to the tank. Thanks for the help.

no, you don't need it, your water should be pretty settled down by then with micro bubbles and debis, just one baffle starting from the bottom going up. you'll be fine.
