i am planning on using a 10 gallon tank with 2 powerheads and a 36watt light. 1 pump drawing water from the sump, 1 (w/ a sponge fliter) going back to the sump. the powerhead i was goin to use is rated at 170gph. i was wondering, is that to much flow in such a small place? should i build baffles into it? any suggestions would be helpful. thanks folks.

you can not use 2 pumps for in and out... you will never be able to balance the flow of those 2 pumps...

yeah after thought and advice, i realized what a horrible idea it was. but now i have good idea with an overflow back in. thank you though.

I agree with FLIPTEG. You may have problem using two pump. Use only one pump to pump water from sump to fuge and let gravity bring the water back to the sump. The fuge will need to be placed higher than the sump.
