Refugium Ideas for Reefer 350

Hey guys I was looking for chaeto refugium ideas and came across the CPR In-Tank Refugium. It does come with a pump as well. Of course I would just put this into the sump on my reefer. So my questions are this:

Is the pump even needed? You can buy a version without the pump and obviously if I don't need the little pump I would rather avoid it.

For lighting, I was looking at the Kessil H80. Is this large enough for this refugium? Measurements for the small refugium are as follows:
7 3/4" x 4" x 7 1/2". I would love the H380, but I'm guessing for a refugium of that size that light is a bit overkill.

Lastly, is it even worth it? Will a refugium of that size make a significant impact? I'm limited on space and don't have the space for a huge refugium. I know sometimes the smaller fuge is unable to compete with the display making it an ineffective nutrient reduction method. I don't want to do an ATO mod, but I'm open to any other ideas that have been utilized on the reefer systems.

Thanks!

i'm running the RS 525

i made a acrylic box with some holes drilled in, plopped it into the sump with rubble + chaeto + h80. dimensions of the box is 18" * 7" i think.

i don't like to put all my nitrate exporting eggs in 1 basket, so this is just a part of my nitrate / po4 export. i run an oversized skimmer, and dose nopox.

not sure what the pump is for, but passive flow is probably enough for a refugium.

if you're looking to stock a mandarin, i highly recommend a refugium, my mandarin is the second fattest fish in my tank after my foxface lol

it has been proven that a refugium of any size has an impact, and larger sizes help further. also, the more light the better. your fuge has to compete with you display lights, if it isnt as bright it wont be as effective, get the h380. A good fuge with very bright blue/red spectrum light 20-50% of the tank volume size will effectively make your tank no longer require water changes for nitrate/phos removal.
