Refugium in overflow?

can i put chaeto in my overflow and turn it into a refugium? it gets some lighting from my metal halides and PC. im just looking to put some chaeto. anything special to do to take care of chaeto?

I wouldnt do it, too much risk of blocking the overflow, and not enough cheato to effectively lower nitrates. The only real benefit might be a small haven for pods.

you would get best results by useing a seperate tank, larger the better, to use for a fuge. i like to use big plastic tubs that are 9 inchs tall and 30 inches long by 15 inches wide. i use three of them to grow my chaeto in another room (my closit)..

I'm with David, overflows' (especially HOB) are notorious for having clog problems as it is. I wouldn't increase the risk for a problem by adding in algae.
