Refugium light questions

Hey all, pretty soon here my new sump/refugium should be in. I'm gonna put chaeto in it. My question is what do ya'll feel is best running the light vice-versa to the tank lights (off at day on at night) or just running them 24/7?

Also I've seen people use the outdoor floodlights with the power compact inside them to light the refugium. Is this really good enough.

go to the lighting section at Lowes or HD and get a clip-on attachment and a (flood) grow light. timing cycle: 24-7 for chaeto, just dont mount to close to the water, they put out alotta heat. REEF-ON! and Happy New Year!

I'm using the 65 watt outdoor PC fixture you describe and it works great for my cheato. Currnetly its lit 14 on 10 off cheato is growing really well.
