Refugium Lighting

I recently got a sump/refugium and was wondering what light I should get for it. Which light would you reccomend. The refugium is about 10-15g's. Also when should I turn the light on/off. I have read somewhere that you should turn the light on at night so your ph doesnt drop. Is this true?

Thanks,

I have a clip light that I put a haligen bulb in, I have the light on 24/7. Yes, your ph will drop in the night if there is no light on the tank. Lots of people run there fuge light just at night so the ph won't drop.

Many people use the energy-saving fluorescent spotlights that you can find at a hardware store.
Something like this should do

You can run the bulb whichever way benefits your system the best. Many people run them 24/7, or in a reverse photoperiod to help maintain a constant pH in the tank.

on my fuge for my 125 i run a coralife t5 plant light and i run it 24/7
on my fuge for my 60gal i run a coralife 18watt pc and also run it 24/7. both work great.

reefhobo where do you get that info? hhmmm

dont post junk you dont know how big, flow display size ect ect

timbor gave the best light this week lol

24/7 is still debate, able i think melev is 24/7 i still prefer 14 hours photoperiod.

its up to you to do some reading and learn for your self

i could tell you all of what i know, you want to make all my mistakes??

I think ReefHobo said that is what it did for his system, not for everyones. Thanks for the Data Reefhobo....

FWIW I run my fuge light on an opposite light cycle from my main tank lighting. IMO & IME, I personally believe that macro, to grow properly, needs a time for respiration..rest...I grow gracilaria specifically and it tends to thrive in this light cycle.
Here is a pic of my fuge.
