Refugium lighting

If I have macro algae in my refugium, am I supposed to run the lights over it 24/7?? or just at night?? or just during the day??....

Any opinions??

it all depends on u, some people never turn the refugium lights off, however, i turn mines on at night when my tank light go off! that seems to be good for me.

Assuming you are growing Chaeto, the best thing for it would be to run it reverse of your main lighting allowing at least 8-10 hours at a time with no light. This allows a rest period for your Chaeto and you will notice more growth.
