refugium opinion

I would like to add a refugium to my system. Have any of you used the Protean 400 Refugium Combo by AE Tech? If not please advise what you think I should purchase. I cannot "do it myself" as I have no skills for building things. Thanks for input!!

I like it! how much dose something like that cost?
I think you are over estimating the ease of sump building.
1 buy a rubbermade tote
2 buy a skimmer
3 buy return pump
4 buy cheato
5 throw all in tote from step one
6 open beer can and enjoy

But I do like the one pictured above, looks so clean and professional!

a refugium can be built out of a small used tank a rubbermaid tub etc. All you would have to do is add your baffles to it. Its not as hard as one would think to be built.As far as the one you are thinking about i have no idea at all.

it sooooooo incredibly easy to DIY a sump/refuge its ridiculous.

If you have a spare tank laying around, you should at least take a stab at trying it (you'd be crazy not to).

how/what would you add baffles to a rubbermaid tub? or if using a spare tank where would be a good place to get material for baffles?

hardware store usually sells acrylic sheeting.
Or I'm sure you could order it online somewhere.

e-bay has some pre-cut baffle kits that are easy to install, I have one in my refugium. Search for Refugium Kit.
