I'll be turning my current 75g into a full blown macro refugium like phishys has (wife wants garden eels 
). Well i'm running into some problems. I don't believe im going to have enough room to setup a seperate sump for my skimmer and to run an external return pump since it all needs to be under the stand for now. What i was wondering is if i built a pvc/eggcrate stand for my skimmer and return pump to sit on would there be any forseen issues? I don't want to go and waste about 100lbs of sand thats already in the tank and install baffles. Would there be an easier way to do this? I tried to do a draw up on sketchup but im still learning the program.
So basically one end would house the pvc/eggcrate table with the skimmer then at the other end would be another table with just my return pump.
