Refugium w/ GFO

In thinking how I'll set up my new sump, I'm debating the utility of a lit refugium. I use one now but my chaeto barely grows at all, so it doesn't really contribute to nutrient export. Can I just go without and save the wattage? Do others running GFO still get grow out in their lit refugiums? Thanks,

Yes, I do but not a s much as when PO4 was high. A little iron from time to time might help. The chaeto is nice because on opposite photoperiod it provides some O2 during the night. Since it doesn't grow alot and isn't harvested often nutrient export is minimal
