Refugium

Hi all, I have a refugium under my 125 and looked and it has lots of microstars , pods, and bristle worms in it. I was wondering how do I get them out of the cheato and into my display tanks. I tried taking a clump off and shaking it into the display tank but that didn't seem to do anything but have small pieces of macro all over the tank. what can I do?
Thanks
Matt

I would be very careful not get any macro in your display tank. I have a 125 with 55 fuge and the macro took over pretty bad at one point. I would think most of that stuff would seed itself into the main tank. Thats how mine is. I have baby shrimp in my fuge.

how is your refugium plumbed to your main tank? I found the best way to get the pods and good guys from the refugium to the main is by gravity, thus the refugium should be above the main display.

Keep a couple of small pieces of base rock in your fuge. Once the pods start living in it just grab a piece of the rock, keep a plate or dish under it while moving from the fuge to the display, and just dunk it in the tank and shake it around. Works great for me.

You can put some of the Chaetomorpha in the display tank, although I suspect the animals are already doing the move on their own. Chaetomorpha doesn't attach to rocks, so it's safe, IME.

i did what bertoni did, i put my cheato in the disply attached to a veggie clip over night, some off the star went out and so did the pods
