I put together this diagram and was wondering what you guys think, would it work??? Anything I should change?

no need for the bioballs. just open up that slot for a larger skimming area!

or how about i make the refugium area bigger? the reason i was puttin that there was to to grab the particles that come in from the overflow. still no need?

just take 2 pieces of glass or acrylic & make a box in the corner leaving about 1" at the bottom & fill it w/ rock rubble

You'll likely need an auto top off unit due to the size of your return section.

I prefer to set it up with a split drain & middle return. This allows the skimmer section to be kept @ 8"-10" high & the refuge about 14" high. Check out the link. it's where my design came from.

There are many ways to design a sump but I feel this one has the least amount of negatives.
