Regal Angel Help...

I have had this guy for a month. He is eating well, frozen and pellets....

He got a few spots on his rear top edge and a couple below and a couple on the tail fin about a week ago. It has neither progressed nor disappeared. He also has a small white node right on his upper lip. Is this Ich or something else?

Everyone else in the tank is doing well, with the exception of a yellow tang that developed a bacterial infection after i had to put him in a small sump area for 10 days to isolate him bc he was being very aggressive. Water parameters are good, 0 on ammonia and phosphate, very low nitrate...

Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

I got mine last monday and he had similar spots on his tail. I know mine was not ich but not sure about yours i kinda looks like it. Did you QT? Mine is almost done with first round of prazi and his spots have cleared up.

can prazi possibly clear up those kinds of spots? i thought prazi only worked on flukes and other internal parasites that don't manifest as spots such as these?

It looks like Lymphocystis. It usually clears up on its own through good water quality and good diet. I believe it is brought on by stress. I've recieved mail order fish with symptoms like this and the fish recovers fine without any meds. On the other hand, your Regal Angel is a very sensitive fish and I probably would have quarantined it ( without meds ) separately from your display tank so it would have a stress free enviornment to recover. But since you say he is eating well I would just keep feeding ( it looks like he needs a bit of fattening up anyway).
