regal angel

I've had a red sea regal angel for about 10 day's and he is still not eating with the other fishes. He shy's away from all the activity and goes behind the rocks during feeding. I've noticed him eating sponges in the rockwork and other unidentified things in the rocks. When he was first introduced there was some initial aggression from the three tangs in the tank but that has subsided now.
I've tried formula 2, mysis, blood worms, krill, fresh clam meat, cyclopeze, and nori sheets attached in the rockwork. He may be eating some of it out of sight. He is,nt particularly skinny and he is active but he's not fat either.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hopefully the live rock will be able to sustain him. Mine didn't eat for a couple weeks, but then started picking at nori. After started eating the nori he became a much more aggressive feeder. There are few fish that are as shy as a regal angel. Be prepared to provide sponges bought from your LFS until he starts eating.

get some of the angel food formula, get a rock full of zoos and maybe even pull a rock or two out of your sump that is covered in sponges and replace it every couple days or weeks. see if this helps because it helped for me.

Sponges will almost always get angels to feed. He has to feel comfortable in his environment to go out and compete for food. The sponge just has to get him through until he can feel secure enough to do that.
