Thank you for contacting us with your questions on the Regal Angelfish. The availability of specimens is dependent on what we have on hand in our aquatics center, and this depends on what we are able to harvest from the wild and which tank raised specimens are available at the time. Our holding facility does receive daily shipments, so the stock can change from day to day. We are unable to give you a specific date as to when we will have the specimen in stock. As soon as they become available we will send you an email letting you know you can place an order for that fish. We are expecting to receive some within the next couple weeks. We also have Regal Angelfish listed sometimes on our Diver’s Den part of our website.
The specimen is listed as expert only as they are more fragile then most other angelfish, and hobbyists can have a hard time getting them to eat. At our shipping facility they are fed frozen Mysis and Brine shrimp as well as seaweed. To entice a Regal Angelfish to eat, use a diet of fresh shrimp and chopped seafood. The diet should also include herbivore preparations, which include Spirulina and marine algae, and Angelfish preparations containing sponges. Once acclimated to an aquarium they make a great addition and add a wonderful color to the tank.
It is recommended to add these fish to a well-established aquarium with live rock that the Angelfish can graze on the algae. A minimum of a 100-gallon tank with plenty of hiding places will offer a good environment.
