Regal Tang Growth Rate???

I know that paracanthurus hepatus can get around a foot long in a home aquarium, but how fast do they grow???

Would one sized around 1"-4" be ok in a 90g for a year until I upgrade to a 180g or bigger???

mines grown probably about a half inch a month. I feed a lot though
