hi guys, i currently have a 46g display tank, and a 12 gallon sump/fuge. However, i've been battling cyano algae.. and its killing all my corals. Now that i've done some researchin, most recommand to use a strong skimmer. So my question is, should i upgrade my skimmer to a remora pro? or should i just stick with the regular remora?! :O
my total water volume = around 60 gallons (including the water in the skimmer + phosban)

more water change COULD be what you need. But doing lots of water changes isnt that great imo. Can change too much and cause problems.

what are your nitrates and phosphates? Those both feed cyano. And how old is the tank? if its in the one in your sig then there shouldnt be cyano...if it were a new one it could be just a phase..

But anyways, I've got the regular remora on my 55, so i got about the same water volume as you (unless you filled your sump up to the very top, which you're not sposed to do lol) and it does great on my 55. Theres not really any better hob skimmers, tho y ou could get a bigger/better in-sump one i'm sure.

sir_dudeguy, my tank has been setup for around 5 months now.. and it got MUCH better today (i turned off my lights for 1 1/2 days, and started using the poly-fresh or something like that)
and i figured, it was because i had some dead spots my powerheads werent pumping water to.. so it created the cyano outbreak. but thnx for the comment on the remora though :) i guess i'll just keep using it then (its working great for me too!)
